Interested in taking your ideas from the page to the publisher? Join us to learn how these three writers formed a group that produced three debut authors in 2023!
Learn about their stories and how the writing group – meeting for six years and counting – became an invaluable resource through the phases of writing, editing, publishing, and now book promotion! They will share how they structured their group and how it has evolved. The event will end with a question-and-answer discussion period.
Mindy Pollack-Fusi, Bedford resident, writing coach, Minuteman columnist and Boston Globe correspondent, and book publisher and author, will introduce the panel:
· Laura Beretsky, author of Seizing Control (November 2023, Haley’s Publishing), a memoir about the challenges of living with epilepsy, Laura’s quest for justice over workplace discrimination, and the patient self-advocacy required to get the best possible medical care.
· Bev Boisseau Stohl, author of Chomsky and Me: A Memoir (2023 OR Books), about her 24 years running the MIT office of renowned linguist and social critic Noam Chomsky. Bev finds humor and light amid dark topics while revealing the man behind the icon, examining her life choices in the process.
· Jean Duffy, author of Soccer Grannies: The South African Women Who Inspire the World (2023 Rowman & Littlefield) about a team of 40 to 80-year-olds who defy social convention to play soccer for the health benefits and companionship it provides.
The authors (all four of them) will have books for sale and signing!
This is an in-person program only.
