Social Story: My Visit the Bedford Library

We’ve created a social story to help children know what to expect when visiting the library.

You can view it here.

What Are Social Stories:
Created by Carol Gray in 1991 (who originated and owns the trademarks for the terms
“social story” and “social stories”)
Social storiesTM are short descriptions of a particular situation, event, or activity, which
include specific information about what to expect in that situation and why.

What are Social Stories used for:
● Develop skills (self-care, social, and academic)
● Help understand how someone might behave or respond in a situation
● Help a person cope with changes to routine, an unexpected event, or new situation
