Library Butterflies
Published August 6th, 2019
Monarch caterpillars have returned to the library, and the first butterfly emerged this morning!
We’ve had a few exciting weeks, watching the caterpillars munch, grow, and transform into their gleaming green chrysalises. What a treat to watch this one start its adult life.
You can see how many chrysalises are waiting–and there are more to come. As each butterfly emerges and dries, the library will release it on the lawn. Visitors are welcome to watch, if you happen to be at the library when it’s time to open the cage!
