Michelle “Shelby” Wang ~ Artist Statement:
I’m an artist/designer in the Greater Boston Area studying Graphic Design at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. I am interested in both digital media and fine arts. I work predominantly in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, graphite, pen, watercolor, and ink.
In addition to my studies, I am also a Social Media Ambassador for the Marketing and Communications Department at MassArt. Additionally, I participate in the Colleges of the Fenway Dance Project, curate for the All School Show at MassArt, and work as a Teacher Assistant at MassArt.
In spring of 2016, I was given the Award of Recognition from the Studio Foundation Faculty at MassArt. In Spring of 2015, I was awarded Art Student of the year by the Bedford Arts and Crafts Society. I have also participated in National History Day at the national level; My project was also presented in the Smithsonian as part of an exhibit for National History Day and in the Hynes Convention Center for the National Council of Social Studies in an exhibit called “Living in Social Studies”.
I have had work presented in the Student Life Gallery (Away Show), Brant Gallery (Restored, All school show, and First Year’s Finest), the Bedford Arts and Crafts Society, the Bedford k-12 Art Show, Bedford District Tech Showcase, and the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society.
