What is it? Desktop and pocket microscopes
Who is it for? The desktop microscope is ideally sized for elementary school students, but it’s likely that many older students and adults will enjoy the ability to see objects in detail. The pocket microscopes are designed for ages 6 and up.
What is included? three individual pocket microscopes, one tabletop microscope (each checked out individually); prepared slides; instruction sheet.
How does it work? The three pocket microscopes can be used with the base to view slides or without the base to view objects in their natural environments. They allow users to zoom up to 40x to see really fine detail. The tabletop OM117 microscope offers three zoom options – 40x, 100x and 400x – and includes three sets of prepared slides inspired by exhibits at the Natural Museum of History. The large microscope is stored in a sturdy, padded bag for safe transport and also comes with the Usborne book, The World of the Microscope.
The Fine Print
The microscopes are loaned out individually and can be borrowed for 1 week. Two renewals are permitted, provided there are no reserves waiting. Only Bedford residents are permitted to make requests on this item.
