Music Program with Justin Locke

Bedford Free Public Library is pleased to present:
“Real Men Don’t Rehearse”
A fun afternoon with musician/author/storyteller Justin Locke
Justin spent 18 seasons playing bass in the Boston Pops. In 2005 he published “Real Men Don’t Rehearse,” a collection of his favorite “gig disaster stories.” Justin will be sharing the inside scoop, along with many laugh-out-loud tales of the world of playing in a professional orchestra, and answer questions such as “what the heck does the conductor actually do?”
Along with his past work as a bass player, Justin is also a “score reader” for TV broadcasts of the pops, and his musical comedies for children are performed all over the world. He has appeared on Chronicle HD and the Jordan Rich show. Even if you have no interest in classical music, you will find these heroic tales of musicians at work, just trying to get the notes played under trying circumstances, to be fabulously fun.
