Summer Reading 2017

Calling all readers!

Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers

June 15th will kick off the start of our year-round 1000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge!  As daunting as that number might seem, it’s as easy as reading three books a day for a year.  Think about all of the times you’ve been asked to read a favorite book again, and again, and again … every re-read counts!  Online participation is convenient and portable; paper reading logs are also available at the library.

Elementary Kids

Runs from June 15th through August 24th

Kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to sign up for the newly redesigned Summer Reading Program!  This year, kids will begin the summer with a key ring.  As they complete challenges, they can fill their ring with badges that tell the story of their reading achievements.  Complete at least three challenges, and kids will earn a free book from the Friends of the Library Book Nook.  Online participation is the easiest way to track progress; a paper log is available on request at the library.
