Children's department


The Children's Department has materials for children from birth through fifth grade, including books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs, Wii and DS games, magazines, puzzles, and puppets. We also provide two computers with filters for internet use, three iPads loaded with early literacy apps, and a listening station for storybook recordings.

Craft Time

Tuesday, 4/21
2:00 - 4:00pm (drop-in)

Just for vacation, we're crafting on a Tuesday! Stop by the library to make and create. The craft will take 15-30 minutes to complete, but we'll have the supplies ready from 2pm to 4pm. This month: Caterpillars to Butterflies.

LEGO Challenge

Wednesday, 4/22
10:30 - 11:30am

Explore the wonderful world of Legos. We'll chalenge you with a theme or you can build your own creation. Afterwards, your model will be put on display in the case outside the Children's Room. We have loads of Legos to build with, so just bring your imagination!

Grades K-5, no registration needed!

Curious Creatures

Two shows:
10:30-11:10 pre-K
3:30 - 4:30pm Gr. K-5

All ages, FREE tickets begin 30 minutes before each event.

Curious Creatures returns! Young children (preschool aged) are invited in the morning and school-aged children (grades K-5) can come in the afternoon for lots of hands-on fun with wild animals from around the world. Generously sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Space is limited.
