A Dedicated Community
The Friends are a group of volunteers dedicated to supporting the Library and its staff. As an independent, non-profit organization, the funds raised by the Friends of the Bedford Free Public Library enable the library to provide services and programs beyond those funds in the Library’s annual budget.
Friends Make It Happen
The Friends of the Bedford Free Public Library hold annual Spring and Fall book sales each year. Additionally, gently-used books are offered for sale in three locations at the library – a permanent cart located on the art mezzanine, in the alcove to the right of the Circulation desk, and the Children’s Book Store on the first floor beneath the stairs. Thanks to generous donations from the community, proceeds from all sales support the library in providing programs and collection materials including but not limited to Museum passes, site licenses to show movies, DVD/Blu-Ray collection additions, Summer reading programs for Children, Teens and Adults, lecture series, Chinese cultural programs, Children, Teen and Adult programs throughout the year, equipment such as laptops for in-library use, hotspots, and so much more.
Donations of used books that are clean and in good condition can be delivered to the Friends drop-off location at the Library on the 1st floor next to the elevator behind the Circulation Dept.
