The Bedford Stories Project

A New Story Gathering Program at the Library

In the spirit of One Book, One Bedford, the Bedford Free Public Library is launching a new town-wide program inspired by StoryCorps®.   You can listen to Bedford Stories here.

The Bedford Stories Project is a community-wide, story gathering program.  It will give the citizens of Bedford a forum to tell and preserve their stories.

The Bedford Free Public Library is inviting people of all ages to come and record a conversation with someone in Bedford who has inspired you or made a difference in your life.
It can be anyone!
Some suggestions:

  • family member
  • teacher
  • neighbor
  • coach
  • community organization member
  • bus driver
  • clergy or congregation member
  • friend
  • co-worker

And if you’d like to talk about a person who is no longer with us, you can come and record an interview about the impact they had on you.

Beginning October 2016, we’ll be scheduling recorded conversations with Bedford residents.
If you’d like to participate in this project or would like more information, please send an email to [email protected] or call Leslie Wittman at 781-698-9724.

Recording equipment kindly provided through the generosity of The Friends of the Bedford Free Public Library.
