Library Trustees
BEDFORD FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY
Meeting called to order at 7:10 pm by Chairperson, Rosemary Dyer.
Present: Trustees D. Crowell, R. Dorer, R. Dyer, L., M. Ross, and P. Russo. L. O’Connor arrived at 8:35 pm. Library Director, M. McCulloch was present although excused during two director candidate interviews.
Secretary’s Report: No Report by the Secretary
Director’s Report:
Lighting Update: Trustees agreed that the proposal by consultant Berg-Howland Associates was less detailed than desired. Director McCulloch agreed to review with Rick Jones. It was agreed that the Director would also review with Mr. Jones the potential for use of town employees in some of this lighting work. P. Russo to also ask contact at local university for a recommended lighting consultant.
Funds Management:
Director McCulloch provided a summary of all funds and their specific use restrictions.
New Business:
Director Search:
Two candidates for director were called back for second interviews. Chairman Dyer moderated these interviews.
After the interviews, Mr. Dorer motioned to notify the town manager of our intention to extend an offer to Richard Callaghan for the position of Library Director at a salary of $67, 500, this being the medium wage for such position according to the Salary Administration Plan. Director McCulloch is to communicate to Mr. Callaghan the offer and refer to the benefits and requirements of town employees as noted on the Bedford town website. Seconded by M. Ross.
