Furniture Acquisitions
Meredith announced that
Bentley College, Waltham, MA, is renovating their present library and we are
the lucky recipients of some very much needed furniture to equip our expanded
library space. This gracious donation
comes to us as a result of an alert trustee, Peter Russo. Peter also escorted Meredith to personally
hand pick what pieces she felt we needed the most. “The haul” will be delivered some time in May and the trucking
will be paid for out of Library funds.
A suitable ‘Thank-you” letter is to be sent to he College from the
Trustees.
Candidates
Meredith announced the 1st two candidates that we will interview on April 5, 2005. Lynn O’Connor will serve as chair for this first round of interviews, which will begin at 8 pm (after a 7:30 Library tour for each candidate by the Director including staff introductions where possible. The first interview will conclude at 8:45 pm; allowing for a short rest period and some brief observations. The second interview will begin at 9 pm and run a similar length of time after a similar tour.
This process will be repeated on April 19 with two more selected candidates from the qualified respondents. As a result of these interviews, candidates will be further selected for second interviews.
The list of interview questions was prioritized and some possible additions added that would give the Trustees a better feel for personality traits. Bob Dorer was charged with asking questions in the area of budgets and in particular, experience with town officials, getting their support and recalling specific successes in detail. Success in grant proposals will also be sought. Questions concerning areas of abilities and solid detail of experience will be relegated to the second interview.
Staff Info:
Another Trustee/Staff meeting will be held on Monday, April 4 at 5 pm for those who can attend.
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:15 pm. Seconded by M.Ross.
Respectfully Submitted,
Doris Crowell
